Zelda: Breath of the Wild has 120 shrine mini-dungeons

If you thought Zelda games of the past were big, just wait until you get your hands on Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch or Wii U. The open-world adventure game has a giant draw distance and everything you see can be travelled to and explored, but we knew that already. What was recently revealed though was just how much there is to do in the game and it's quite stupendous.

Revealed as part of an early retail listing for the game's official strategy guide, we now know that the new Zelda game will feature 120 shrine mini dungeons, 900 Korok seed puzzles and a massive 76 side quests. Apparently this doesn't even include the many extra optional challenges, mini games, unlockables, collectables and easter eggs which can be found throughout the game (thanks EG).

Of course none of this includes the main quest line and dungeons either, so we can expect tens of hours of content in the next Zelda game. I wonder if it will end up comparable to the amount of content we saw in the latest Witcher game.

Probably not, but it might be close.

With all of that to keep you busy, expect the map to end up looking a little Assassin's Creed like, but there are quest trackers and other in-game tools to help you keep track of where you are, what you've done and what's next on the agenda.
