Ubisoft plans six months of post-launch content for AC: Odyssey

Ubisoft wants to extend the life of the next entry in its Assasin's Creed series, Odyssey, with an expansive amount of post-release content. There will be a pair of new stories added to the game, as well as remastered versions of previous Assassin's Creed games, all given as part of the Season pass, alongside new items, weapons, and outfit options.

Assasins' Creed Odyssey takes players back to Ancient Greece where they'll be slaying, stabbing, and sneaking around classic architecture and diving off of rooftops while looking to bring down some of the world's most dangerous individuals. Other than themselves, of course.

That's all pretty standard AC fare, even if it is in a different setting and time. However, Ubisoft is pushing hard to keep the game relevant beyond its main story and we're not talking collectables. While there will be plenty for those who want to 100 percent the base game to do, there will also be lots of new story content to enjoy post release. The first story given to all players, regardless of game version they own, is the Lost Tales of Greece expansion. It will be joined by weekly and daily in-game events to keep it fresh and exciting.

Season pass owners, who can get in on the action with an individual purchase or by picking up the Gold, Ultimate, Spartan and Pantheon Editions of the game, will be treated to episodic stories called the Legacy of the First Blade, and the Fate of Atlantis. Beginning in December 2018 and Spring 2019 respectively, those two story modes will have new episodes released approximately every six weeks.

Season pass owners will also be given remastered versions of both Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Liberation, for even more stabbing action.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey launches on October 5.
