Ubisoft CEO: Nintendo NX Is Really Great For Casual Gamers

Wii U's spectacular failure made a lot of people doubt that Nintendo has what it takes to make its upcoming overly-mysterious NX console succeed in the increasingly competitive consoles market. Now, at least one industry figure is not so doubtful anymore.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has seen the console and told his company's investors that it was "really great."

So far, we know that Nintendo NX's production has reached its final stages in preparation for its launch around March 2017. We know that the NX is "a brand new concept" that is not meant to replace neither the Wii U nor the 3DS. And we recently came to know that it won't be as powerful as its competitors' upcoming Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 Neo.

In a recent earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was not able to share any more info about Nintendo's ace in the hole. However, he affirmed that it was "really great" and that he is confident it would bring a lot of casual gamers in."

"From what we've seen the NX is really great," he told the investors. "And we think having a new machine come in is going to help the industry continue to grow, and to take a lot of casual players back to the industry."

Ubisoft is one of the few companies who vowed to support the Nintendo NX from day one.
