Turtle Rock is developing a new 'dark fantasy' co-op game

Even though Evolve wasn't the monumental success that Turtle Rock hoped it would be, it's not done with the idea of innovative cooperative mechanics just yet. Following on from previous releases like the aforementioned alien-hunter and the original Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock is now working on a brand new IP which is said to be a "dark fantasy co-op" title.

The game will be played in the first person perspective, with a heavy emphasis on working with your pals to make it through, though what you'll be facing is up in the air right now.

"We are developing a new franchise set in an all new universe that leverages the style of gameplay our community loves and expects from Turtle Rock Studios," said the studio's co-founder, Phil Robb (thanks PCG). "We're focusing on what we do best - heart-pounding moment-to-moment online co-op FPS action, and with Perfect World as our partner, we will always make sure that our players come first by listening to them and growing the game based on how they play and interact over what we hope are many years to come."

One of the other interesting take homes from this announcement is that Turtle Rock isn't working with 2K games this time, but instead free to play publisher, Perfect World, best known for publishing a number of Chinese MMOs.

We'll certainly be keeping an eye on this game as it developers.
