Surgeon Simulator dev shows off I am Bread

One of the big trends in gaming over the past couple of years, is emergent gameplay. Games that give you a toolkit and let you play around to see what can come of it. Combine that with difficult and often funny controls and you have things like Surgeon Simulator and most iconicly, Goat Simulator.

Deciding to ditch the "simulator," part of the name for its next game, the developer behind the drunken medical practicing title is now working on a new one, called I am Bread and now we have a trailer of it in action.

The game has the player controlling a slice of bread, using a single button to control each corner of the slice in a QWOP style of movement. From there players can up the "deliciousness" of the bread, but need to maintain its edibility at the same time.

It looks to be a game of combining ingredients, whilst laughing at the ridiculous physics and making sure you don't get too dirty.

It's not clear if there's much of an objective to the game beyond that for now, but we really don't know a lot about it. Chances are, we won't need to to enjoy it.

What do you guys think of these sorts of 'sim' games?
