Street Fighter had a habit of releasing new content and characters in the form of full priced super and ultra editions. Apparently, this practice will come to a stop with the release of Street Fighter V.
Capcom Community Manager Peter Rosas promised that the initial Street Fighter V disc will the only edition of the game players need to purchase. All post-launch balance and system adjustments will be released as free updates and all new game content and characters will be "earnable for free."
Street Fighter V will launch with a rooster of 16 characters and new characters will be added on a continuous basis. Players will have the option to buy new characters and content using real world money or using the game's "Fight Money" which can be earned simply by playing and progressing through game.
