Street Fighter On The Switch Has 1st Person Gesture-Based Combat

We already know that the Nintendo Switch is not as powerful Sony's PlayStation 4 Neo and Microsoft's Project Scorpio as Nintendo is once again betting on its ability to foster unique experiences using its console's unique design and clever peripherals. One such experience is the ability to play Street Fighter in first person.

A Japanese Capcom TV show had a hands-on with the Nintendo Switch and one of the games they tried was Street Fighter's "Way of the Hado" where they got to throw hadoukens in first person using the console's Joy-Con controller motion detection capabilities.

It is clear from the video that the game's gesture detection quality is not really up to snuff as the presenters had to flail their hands around quite often and hope for the game to register the attack they had in mind. Hopefully, this would improve before the game hits the market. Otherwise, we'd be looking at another Fable: The Journey - a great game that was doomed by Kinect's gesture-detection limitations.
