Sony Patents Handheld With 'Digital Tactile Pixels'

The US Patent And Trademark Office granted Sony a patent for "hand-held device with touchscreen and digital tactile pixels."

Sony's filing doesn't reveal if they plan for this product to be PSP 2, PSP phone or another wholly new device. However, it states that the device can "be used as game device, phone, portable media player, email device, web browser device or navigation device."

To create the tactile response, the device will have its touchscreen pixels vibrate under the user's fingertips.
