Sony looks to court ex-Lionhead developers for SCEE

One of the saddest announcements in the world of gaming in recent weeks, was that Microsoft was shuttering the doors at iconic studio, Lionhead, the development house known for games like Black and White and the Fable franchise. Founded by Peter Molyneux after his departure from Bullfrog studios back in 1996, Lionhead was purchased by Microsoft in 2006 following its early success.

Now though that studio is done.

But never fear, as all of those highly experienced developers who worked at the company over the past few years, now have their very own job fair. Sony is looking to have them mingle with some of its staffers, to see if any of them would be a good fit for the various companies and studios it owns.

Beginning on Monday next week, Sony will be holding a job fair for any ex-Lionhead employees that want to come. There they will be able to network with other developers from Guerilla, Evolution, Media Molecule and a number of other studios and publishing houses.

"We're having a #Recruitment Event in Guildford for everyone at #LionheadStudios on Monday, please come along for a drink and a chat..." it said via Twitter.

"There'll be people there from all our SCEE studios and if you'd like to a book a time for a chat on the day, please DM for details."

Although the latest Fable games haven't been as impressive as their early developments, Lionhead is still a good company to have on your resumé. It will be interesting to see how many developers there end up at SCEE companies in the future.
