Sega expands Mega Drive Mini with 10 new games

Sega's Mega Drive Mini has a new and expanded list of games that will debut on the miniature console when it arrives this September, including classics like Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition, Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Golden Axe, and Vectorman, among others.

The Mega Drive Mini, or Genesis Mini depending on where you're located, was first announced in March and is likely to see similar success to Nintendo and Sony's miniature systems that have come before. It's a small-scale version of its classic home system but instead of requiring cartridges, has a small PC built into it with an onboard emulator that gives you the option of playing classic games without all the old hardware. It's compatible with two new USB controllers that use the same classic, Sega Mega Drive three-button design, and connects up to a display with an HDMI cable.

It's set to go on sale for $80 when it launches in September and you can pre-order one now from select retailers. There will be 40 games on it when it debuts, and we have an idea about the first 30. 10 more to go.
