Resident Evil 7 'Not a Hero' DLC release delayed

The release of the upcoming Resident Evil 7 DLC, Not a Hero, has been pushed back by the developers at Capcom, claiming that it was currently not in a state that was worthy of continuing the original game. We don't have a follow up release date planned for its launch either, suggesting some major changes may need to be made.

Announced in video form by game producer Masachika Kawata and game director Koshi Nakanishi, the pair broke down that the content was almost ready for release, but that they just didn't feel it could match the quality of the main game and so would be pushing back its release.

The DLC is still coming we're told, and that the developers will be retooling it to bring it up to the standard that gamers have expected from Resident Evil 7. The DLC will also be released for free as planned, though when is anyone's guess.

By way of apology, Capcom is also working on another piece of DLC which will also be released for free alongside the Not a Hero content as and when it's ready.
