Remastered Grim Fandango pre-order appears on GoG

If you've never played through the seminal classic point and click adventure game, Grim Fandango, then the end of this month could be the best time to give it a try as the HD remastered version will be released, making the game playable on modern operating systems and featuring a graphical bump, much like the remasterings of previous LucasArts classics.

Picking up the new version of the game will make the whole experience of playing Grim Fandango far easier. Until now, getting it to work on a modern system was a lesson in frustration and required utilising community and fan made patches that rarely made the game run smoothly.

This writer for example has only played the first half, as his save loaded to a point that shortly after crashed, regardless of what he did.

Set for release on January 27, Grim Fandango HD is now available for pre-order on GoG.com, and to celebrate, Tim Schafer, head of Double Fine - the company that handled the HD transformation - has a little message for us all.

Along with the improved graphics, the game will also come with updated control options, a re-recorded orchestral sound track and hours of developer commentary from the game's original creators.
