The Razer Blade laptop is now $300 cheaper with near identical hardware specifications and some additional improvements to make it easier to get online with the portable gaming laptop. The base model now starts at $1,600 and comes with a Core i7-8750H CPU, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 Max Q GPU.
The reason it's not $1,900 like the Blade 15 has been for some time, is because of the dual storage solution. Razer has cut costs by bundling a 128GB SSD with a 1TB hard drive instead of the typical high-speed 256GB SSD. If you prefer having that extra SSD space, $1,800 gets you 256GB of SSD and 2TB of hard drive space as well -- as per PCGamer.
"With the Razer Blade 15 we created the world’s smallest 15.6-inch gaming laptop and set a new precedent for the ideal mobile gaming experience. We listened to feedback from our fans and we have expanded on that experience with a new color option, Ethernet capability, more storage configurations, and a more affordable price," Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said.
Other updates to the Razer Blade in all configurations include a new Ethernet port, and an RGB keyboard backlighting upgrade for the base-model.
Razer has also expanded the customization options into the paint job, with the new option of a "Mercury White," coat alongside the typical Razer accented black. You do have to pay for the privilege of the new design though, with even the cheapest costing as much as $2,200. If you spend $2,600 you get a GTX 1070 Max Q GPU with 512GB of storage and a 144Hz display, but it is limited to 1080P resolution.
