PS4 System Update drops later today, adding HDR

Sony is set to release the 4.0 update for the PlayStation 4 later today and it will add that much anticipated HDR update for those with compatible TVs to take advantage of. That's not all that's coming as part of this patch though, so let's settle down and break down what PS4 gamers can look forward to.

Folders is a much requested addition to the PS4 back-end. This should make it easier than ever before for gamers to organise their titles into categories or systems of their own choosing, which when combined with the new purchase tab should make it possible to have much more organised game libraries.

The quick menu is getting an update too, making it customisable and easier to access, so you can again tweak how you move around your game library and give yourself quick access to some of your favourite or most played titles. There's also a new music section added, which lets you discover and play Spotify tracks without specifically opening the app.

The What's New and Content Info screens have been rearranged and redesigned to make them easier to access and more informative with information from friends and what they're playing.

You can also transfer games to new PS4s now via a wired LAN connection.

Of course with the PS4 Pro showing up on November 10 though, a big part of this update is readying the PSN for it, so this update also adds 1080p remote play, 1080p streaming on Share Play, 1080p broadcasting on Youtube and the same on Twitch.

Do you guys like these changes and are any of you considering a PS4 Pro?
