Possible Pokémon Switch leaks point to an amazing future

A set of promising, possible leaks of a Pokémon game on the Nintendo switch have fans of the series cautiously excited, because if true, they paint a picture of the future which finally brings the main Pokémon series to a home console in a manner that we've never seen before. While the game(s) wouldn't be quite the same as the handheld titles we've grown used to over the past two decades, they would be something close to it, but with a slight twist on the formula.

The rumor mill started spinning up based on some alleged leaks by anonymous posters on claiming that two new Pokémon games were in the works: Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu Edition, and Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee Edition.

While many dismissed such stories as fake, others suggested the names were gimmicks to hook in non-traditional Pokémon players. Others highlighted the similarities to a previous post on the site which appeared in March and suggested that there would be two new games for the Switch -- effectively, a remake of the original Pokémon Yellow, though released in two different versions. Original characters Red and Blue would be featured in the story, though the player and the rival would be two new characters.

The threads that seems to wind its way among all these leaks though, is that somehow, Game Freak is trying to figure out how to integrate Pokémon Go and Go-like mechanics into the game.

As Kotaku highlights, that's been something the developer has been testing for a couple of years at this point. Back that up with the registration of some very Pokémon centric domain names like pokemonletsgopikachu.com and pokemonletsgoeevee.com have both been recently registered, and the plot certainly thickens.

There have also been a number of official Pokémon-related Twitter accounts that have been posting Pikachus and Eevees together for some time now.

Does any of this mean anything concrete? Nope. But the evidence is mounting to suggest that new Pokémon games are coming and they could be coming to the Switch.
