AGEIA Technologies, the company behind PhysX, the hardware-accelerated physics model for games has announced that French developer Cyanide will support the AGEIA PhysX processor in its upcoming ACTION RPG Loki. Known for its popular sports titles such as Pro Cycling Manager and Pro Rugby Manager, Cyanide is taking full advantage of AGEIA's PhysX system in its bold leap into the world of role-playing games(RPG).

The AGEIA PhysX processor is designed to work in concert with the CPU and GPU to balance the computing demands of physics, gameplay and graphics in PCs. As a result, gamers can experience unprecedented levels of action, strategy and visuals in next-generation games.

Loki puts the player in key epochs of history surrounded by legendary heroes, powerful divinities and mythical creatures such as hydrae, dragons and minotaurs. With Loki's extensive population of characters and dynamic real-time action, Cyanide developers chose to optimize the game for the real-time action acceleration of the AGEIA PhysX processor. The dedicated physics processing horsepower of the AGEIA PhysX processor enables much more realistic characters with joints, convexes and other intricate geometry, as well as dazzling real-time effects.

AGEIAs PhysX has already attracted a considerable amount of attention, especially since Epic announced it had integrated AGEIA's PhysX SDK into its Unreal Engine and the integration of PhysX and support for AGEIA's PhysX processor in Epic's Unreal Engine 3.
