Nvidia driver release gets you ready for Destiny 2

With the open beta for Destiny 2 on PC kicking off on August 28, Nvidia wants to make sure you're ready for all of the cooperative and competitive play that will take place in the very near future. To that end it's released the 385.41 WHQL driver set which makes your Nvidia graphics card officially "game ready."

If you have an Nvidia card and want to play in the Destiny 2 beta, downloading it from Nvidia here would be a good plan. It makes several key optimizations which will help you run the new game, though of course that's not all. It also adds optimizations for games like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Ark: Survival Evolved, F1 2017, Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 and Quake Champions.

Also in this release are a bunch of new SLI profiles for games like ARK, Desinty 2, Faith of Danschant, Lawbreakers, Secret World Legends and Starpoint Gemini Warlords. All of them should see big performance improvements when run in SLI mode with a pair of Nvidia graphics card under the hood.

There are also a bunch of new Whisper mode profiles for laptop users running in games like F1 2017 and Destiny 2.

As PCGamer highlights though, there's only one bug fix in this release. No longer will GTX 970 owners playing Lawbreakers find dropped frame rates affecting play
