NV 30 May be Delayed

Rumours, started by a Japanese web site, claim that nVidia's NV30 may be delayed to a Q1, 2003 release. If this turns out to be the case the company stands to lose quiet a bit of ground by missing, the usually booming, Christmas season. Until those rumours saw he light of day, all evidence suggested that nVidia were right on target for a Q4, 2002 release, with a grand NV30 launch presentation during the Comdex show in the fall of this year.
The Comdex extravaganza is not expected to change and it does seem likely that nVidia will do all they can to avoid missing out the holiday season sales especially since ATI are almost certain to be primed and ready by then.

Although nVidia will not publically comment on their release schedule for the NV30, The PR director of Nvidia worldwide commented Over the next 6 months, we will be making a quantum leap forward in our technology. The next generation GPU requires the capabilities of 0.13 micron process. With 0.13(micron), our architects and engineers have made a quantum leap in algorithms and for the first time, enable cinematic rendering in real-time. We believe we are well ahead of our competition in making this important jump to 0.13um and cinematic rendering. This next generation GPU is targeted to be available for the holiday season.
Even though his comments don't say much in terms of facts, they do create a mouth-watering prospect for all hardware enthusiasts.
