Not tried an Oculus Rift yet? Head to Chuck E. Cheese

Trying an Oculus Rift for the first time is a life changing experience for most gamers. You've heard the hype, you're read the breakdowns and you've seen Russians fall over when pushed during a virtual rollercoaster ride, but trying one yourself is a totally different kettle of fish. You can be the most experienced gamer ever and trust me on this, you've not tried anything like the Rift before.

But getting your hands on one can be difficult. Unless you travel to one of your nation's big tech shows or happen to know one of the 100,000 or so owners of the original Devkit, then you're out of luck as far as VR goes for now. But that's all about to change, as Chuck E. Cheese "restaurants" are about to get their own dose of virtual reality.

"Kids today have unprecedented access to game consoles and tablets," CEC Entertainment President Roger Cardinale said (via Time). "Our challenge is to deliver an experience not available at home, and there is no doubt virtual reality does just that. Oculus Rift technology is the next frontier in the gaming industry, and we're thrilled to be able to say it's part of the Chuck E. Cheese's lineup."

So now you can go along to a Chuck E. Cheese, get yourself a bite to eat and have a play on an Oculus Rift, if you happen to live in Dallas and later this month in Orlando and San Diego. The VR experience lets you see Chuck E. himself fly around a virtual-scape in-front of you as you try an keep track of a virtual ticket while real ones are dumped on your head.

Any of you guys planning to shove a kid out of the way so you can try this?
