No Man's Sky 'Pathfinder' Update to introduce new vehicle

Hello Games' much maligned No Man's Sky, is getting an update called Path Finder, which introduces a new vehicle as well as building upon the previous content patch, Foundation. Suspiciously, this update is set to arrive just before the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda, which seems like much less of a coincidence than the developers may have hoped for.

Hello Games has said it won't be releasing the full details of the patch until it debuts, but that won't be too long to wait.

"Shortly after we launched the Foundation Update, we released a number of patches to address issues reported by players before beginning work on the Path Finder update. We were surprised and excited by the response to Foundation, and we have been listening carefully to community feedback since then," Hello Games said on a Steam update.

It reiterated that it was listening to player feedback and had been taking it into consideration as part of continued development of the game.

NB. This isn't a video of the patch, but imported content suspected to show up in it.

"This is the next step in our journey. It shows the path forward. We hope you'll join us," the developer said.

No Man's Sky received a lot of flak when it was first released. While people praised the game's scope and length, gameplay was rather repetitive and the universe felt cold and empty. That's much better today thanks to the Foundation update, but No Man's Sky still needs more content for people to play it long term.
