It's up to you to decide whether it is good or bad news, but Nintendo's E3 announcements can be fairly summed up as More of the same.

Brain Age 2 was featured during the press conference and users can expect it to be available in North America on August 20. Super Mario Galaxy will be available November, 12, 2007. EA's MySims will be available for the DS and Wii, though release information wasn't announced. The same applies to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Finally, Smash Bros. Brawl will launch in the Americas on December 3.

All the aforementioned titles are sequels, but Nintendo didn't just announce games' sequels. Nintendo did in fact announce 2 new Wii peripherals.

The first of those is the Wii Zapper, a gun shell designed to host both the WiiMote and the Nunchuk to act as a laser gun. The Zapper will be packaged alongside some new video games and will retail for $19.99. Both Medal of Honor and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (again, both are sequels) will make use of the Zapper. Nintendo is currently creating a top-secret title which will utilize the Zapper, but no details were disclosed.

The other new Wii peripheral is Wii Wheel, a steering wheel which will launch alongside Mario Kart Wii in the first quarter of next year. Nintendo, however, did not confirm whether the Wii Wheel would be bundled with Mario Kart Wii or not. Nor did they reveal its price.

In conclusion, Nintendo's 2007 E3 announcements offered nothing original. Is it the end of their creative spree, or are they just not messing with perfection? It's for days to reveal and for you to debate.

(uh, and for those who didn't get the title; The abbreviated sentence stands for "If it aint broke, don't fix it".)
