Nintendo Is Already Retiring Some Amiibo Figurines

Nintendo warned that some Amiibo figurines will not be restocked after their existing stock is sold out.

Responding to media reports that some Amiibo figures are no longer available in retail less than three weeks after launch, Nintendo issued an official statement confirming that this is a permanent situation.

"We will aim for certain Amiibo to always be available," reads the statement. "These will be for our most popular characters like Mario and Link. Due to shelf space constraints, other figures likely will not return to the market once they have sold through their initial shipment."

While Nintendo is coy on details, retailers confirmed that Nintendo has officially discontinued the Marth, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer figures.
