Night Trap is getting a special, physical edition on its anniversary

Night Trap, the full-motion-video game about protecting a house full of young people from mysterious intruders, is being re-released with a brand new physical edition on both PC, Xbox One and PS4. It will come with brand new features, previously unseen footage from the game and interviews and additional information from the cast and crew who worked on it.

All of this is to mark the 25th anniversary of the game's release. While that will technically take place in mid-October, it has been almost 25 years since the original game was released and now Screaming Villains is looking to bring it to a brand new audience, as well as one that's looking for a little nostalgic hit.

The original game promised an hour and a half of exclusive video footage and this version will do that and more, with the addition of deleted scenes from the original one, all cleaned up and presented in as high-a-quality as the original video feeds would allow. The biggest overhaul in this version though is the interface. While it's still rather large and bulky compared to modern games, restricting the video to a flickering camera feed on a letterbox TV, it's a lot cleaner and the environment around the player is much more thematic.

Set to go on sale on August 15, the physical version of the game will only see a limited run, so make sure to buy it when it becomes available if you're keen to own this anniversary edition. For everyone else, the digital version will re-release on the same day, so you can enjoy some classicly bad acting and FMV gaming in one digital package.
