During an interview on Saudi television, Microsoft Saudi marketing manager, Syed Bilal Tariq confirmed that the much anticipated Project Natal will be released in October, just in time for Christmas shopping.
Project Natal is the code name for a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. Based on an add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images.
Tariq said that Natal will launch sometime in October and that the specific release date will be revealed during the E3 expo in June. This E3 will also see the announcement of Natal's final name and, if rumors are to be believed, a new slim version of the Xbox 360.
