Minecraft launches on Wii U tomorrow, Dec. 17

Minecraft is up there with the likes of League of Legends and Angry Birds, as some of the most influential games of the last decade, but there are platforms it hasn't made it too yet. The most obvious is perhaps the Wii U, as the Xbox One, PS4 and last generation consoles have had access to the blocky building game for some time now and it's not like the visuals are too intensive for it to handle.

Arguably too, with its second screen gameplay, the Wii U could offer a unique Minecraft experience, so it's good to see that tomorrow, it finally arrives on the Nintendo Platform.

"Explore randomly-generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in Creative Mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armour to fend off the dangerous mobs," reads the game's official Wii u page.

"Craft, create, and explore alone, or with up to four players in split-screen and up to eight online."

Performance wise it all runs pretty well we're told by those that have had a preview, though some believe Nintendo could have made the game take better advantage of the touch screen.
