Microsoft made a documentary on the Halo 2 remake

Revisiting Halo 2, a game that helped take console based competitive gaming to a whole new level, was a big deal for Microsoft and gamers alike. So it's not so surprising then, that the publishing giant wanted to commemorate the game's re-development and it's going to be doing so with a documentary about its design, and re-imagining in the modern world.

The remake documentary, titled: "Remaking The Legend - Halo 2 Anniversary," is being given out free with the upcoming Halo: Master Chief Collection on the Xbox One.

"Get unprecedented access to the development process as 343 and their team of partners from around the world bring Halo 2 to the Xbox One, while maintaining and honoring its fabled past," Microsoft said.

The documentary will not only cover the 343 remake of the game for the Xbox One, but also the original game's hype, development and release, which was one of the biggest launches of its time and helped cement the original Xbox console as a force to be reckoned with. It changed gaming and clearly Microsoft thinks that that's worth remembering.

Personally I found Halo 2 to be a big drop off from the original. I didn't care about the story and the duel wield mechanic didn't do much for me. Granted by then I was six months into my Unreal Tournament 2004 obsession, but hey, PC was always better for shooters anyway.
