Man Eater gameplay shows trick kills and GTA-like star system

A few minutes of new footage for Maneater appeared at E3, giving us a greater look at its GTA-like gameplay under the waves. Developed by Tripwire Interactive, the company behind such hits as Killer Floor 1 and 2, and Red Orchestra, Maneater is a game that has you playing as a maneating shark, but you'll do much more than just much humans as you roam around various watercourses, lakes, and oceans, on the hunt for prey.

The new gameplay footage is narrated by Chris Parnell — Jerry from Rick and Morty — who also plays the in-game antagonist, Scaly Pete, a fisherman and host of the in-game reality TV show Shark Hunters vs. Maneaters. He explains some of the physical realities of the shark menace and how they can be stopped.

It's up to players to make sure that doesn't happen, hunting fish, humans, and reptilian creatures to grow, regain health, and learn new skills. You'll be able to trick kill everything for extra points, making it easier to level up your shark and become a fearsome maneating monster.

As you kill, though, much like GTA, you'll attract attention. When you get enough of it, fisherman show up trying to catch you and eventually the cops will just start trying to shoot you out of the water. So you'll have to be careful how you manage your infamy.
