League of Legends 2014 champions crowned

Another year is nearly done and that means another season of League of Legends has come to a close, this time in dramatic and definitive fashion. The winners of this year's League Championship Series, was Samsung Galaxy White, the Samsung sponsored Esports team from South Korea.

The team won all but two of their games in the entire championship finals run, dropping one game to the American top-team SoloMid, through what most would describe as arrogance rather than a disparity in skill and one against the fellow finalists, Star Horn Royal Club, showing that Samsung White isn't quite a perfect team just yet.

However they still dominated the competition, taking home the million dollar prize and the official League of Legends trophy in front of a sold-out crowd of over 40,000 fellow gamers in the Seoul stadium that was last used during the World Cup back in 2002.

Star Horn went home with $250,000 as a consolation prize, while the other near million prize money was split up with the remaining finalists and even those finishing a bit further down the table, meaning while DotA 2's 2014 International might have had a bigger prize pool, Riot's $2 million + went a bit further.

Congrats to all those that took past and especially Samsung White. Clearly the gauntlet has been thrown down to the rest of the world, letting them know that Korea is still the king of professional gaming.

Can any other country's stand up to their dominance? What do you guys think?
