Kerbal Space Program 1.0 launches today

If you've played Kerbal Space Program at any point over the past near four years, you'll know what an achievement today's 1.0 launch is. Set to take place in just a few short hours, Jebediah and friends will finally be able to take flight from a launch pad at Kerbal HQ that has a 1.0 to its name, marking the game's first "finished" release date."

That's not to say that the game will no longer be developed in the future. Squad has promised that other big updates like multiplayer will be released in the months to come.

When asked about DLC, the developers said that they never wanted to charge for more content added to the game and the only time they would consider doing so, would be in an "Age of Empires II," like expansion, whereby huge amounts of extra stuff is added to the game, making it a very unique experience in its own right.

In the run up to KSP's 1.0 release though, Squad has been showing off some of the new features in short videos. Like the inclusion of female Kerbals, the ability to climb, new heat and atmospheric damage models and much much more.

Who's pumped for the release?
