Jay and Silent Bob side-scroller successfully funded

It might have been 10 years since Kevin Smith's lovable stoner salesmen have featured in one of his movies, but that doesn't mean he's forgotten about them. They're now set to make a comeback in digital form, in a side-scrolling beat em up called Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, which has been successfully funded on Fig.

Set to go into production at RealInterabangEntertainment, a company co-owned by Trevor Fehrman, who Smith fans will recognise as the lovable Elias in Clerks 2, Chronic Blunt Punch is a side-scroll, classic beat-em up, with ridiculous enemies, ridiculous power ups and ridiculous situations to punch, smack and decimate as Jay and Silent Bob.

The certainly-gay duo, will also be able to transform into their alter egos: Bluntman and Chronic, at certain times, facilitating quite a costume change, as well as opening up new abilities and attacks.

On top of that, there's a conversational combat system being thrown in, where the insults you throw at your opponents can make them easier to take out when it comes to kicking them in the nuts.

Oh and there's some extra support from Dante and Randal too, with the former bringing a boner bodybag, which is a reference you'll get if you saw the first Clerks, while Randal brings forth the Donkey Show assist - which you'll get if you saw the second. There's going to be a lot of references in this one guys.

Now that the game is officially funded, it can go into full-scale production, with an expected finish date of Q1 2018.
