For Honor is getting dedicated servers, finally

One of the reasons that long-term fan support for Ubisoft's For Honor third-person tactical hack and slash hasn't been stronger is because of lag. In a game where microseconds count, input lag, server lag, or even cheaters using lag switches can cause real issues with a game and For Honor really suffered with it under the load of all the new players, especially during the first few days after release. Fortunately for those who have stuck with the game for the past year, For Honor is finally getting dedicated servers, which may go some way to alleviating the issue.

The update that will implement this is known as Season 5: Age of Wolves and will bring with it a few neat features for new, long-time and returning players. It will improve game stability, fixing crashes and online issues, as well as improving grouping and matchmaking. In terms of content, the Kensei and Conqueror classes will be getting reworked animations and movesets, with other classes receiving more minor tweaks to make the game that bit more balanced.

Kotaku reports that the update will also introduce new training modes helping to bridge the gap between experienced and first-time players, as well as new gear, emotes and executions.

Age of Wolves will launch on February 15.
