Homeworld Remastered coming February 25

Homeworld Remastered coming February 25

If you never had the chance to play the Relic Games' classics Homeworld and Homeworld 2, released back in the late 90s and early '00s, then next month you're in for a treat, as Gearbox is releasing the remastered HD version of these seminal PC titles on February 25.

As part of the new edition of the games, both Homeworld 1 and 2 will come with brand new high resolution textures and models, a remastered HUD and support for HD resolutions all the way up to 4K if you like. The cut-scenes and art from between missions too, have been retouched, but if you're screaming "sacrilege" never fear, as Gearbox recruited original Relic artists to do the job.

However if all of this still seems blasphemous, you can also play the games as they originally were too, but with support for your modern operating system.

If you fancy dropping over a hundred dollars on the games, then you can pick up the Collector's Edition, which comes with copies of both the remastered titles and their originals, along with a concept art book and some added backstory to the game, as well as a 13" figure of the Pride of Hilgara mothership model, hand painted and equipped with LED lighting for the engines.
