Here's why you don't put holes in the floor in VR

The HTC Vive is a virtual reality headset that has a launch just a few weeks away at this point and it has a lot of exciting content lined up for release. Budget Cuts is one such game that has you looking around corners, teleporting short distances and throwing knives into the backs of dangerous android guards.

The teleporting feature is an important one, as it lets you "blink" around a room, which makes it possible for everyone with any size room to enjoy its expansive environments. However, the fact that you can travel between floors is a problematic one if you get too into the virtual reality, as one enterprising gamer found when he attempted to stick his head through the floor - only finding the real one in his way as he did so.

Although you might think this is would be a problem any time anyone sticks their head around a corner too, the Vive actually features what's called a Chaperone System, which lets you see a faint grid when approaching walls.

Perhaps the same needs to be activated for floors and ceilings too!
