Here's more footage of Tecmo Koei's Attack on Titan Game

Attack on Titan is a franchise that teaches you two things: 1: nothing will ever turn out well for the heroes and 2: you're never getting to that basement. But other than that, it's about high-speed flying action, Titan mauling and creeping terror; all of which it feels like Tecmo Koei has nailed in its currently in-development game based on the series.

Until now, the only real in-roads into the franchise have been a couple of 3DS titles and a fan-made Java game, which is surprisingly good, but lacks a lot of the features of a fully fleshed title.

The difficulty with making a game based on attacking titans, is that it requires an extremely high level of competence with vertical manoeuvring to be effective. That's why the learning curve in the fan-game is so steep, because it puts much of that control in the hands of players.

Since the team behind this game is well known for its Dynasty Warriors hack and slash series, no one is expecting quite the same level of control as you would see in the fan-game, but this one does something that games doesn't: it makes killing titans cinematic.

The game looks fast and fluid, with players focus attacking a titan with spins and tricks until they finally cut through its nape and end its reign of terror for good.

And then it's on to the next one.
