Get ready, Battlefield 1 hardcore servers incoming

If you feel like the currently available servers for Battlefield 1's multiplayer mode are a little easy, then today may be your lucky day as hardcore servers are set to be implemented over the next few hours.

Hardcore servers are designed for the more serious players who want a more authentic experience and one that's riddled with extra difficulties. For starters, Hardcore servers won't have minimaps to assist you - so learn the maps first. They also have no crosshairs, so you'll need to rely on ironsights to pick your targets and depending on the server settings, spotting enemies may be down to line of sight alone - no floating names in sight.

For those looking to make their own hardcore servers, EA will be introducing its Rent-a-Server program later today too, which will let players set up their own European environments for all out warfare in the early 20th century.

Other changes coming in what is called the Fall Update include basic bug fixes and a few gameplay tweaks, as well as new feature that lets you buy Battlepacks with real money - though that's hardly likely to be something that everyone loves.

How are you guys enjoying Battlefield 1 so far?
