Gaming Heals - Fact

Gaming Heals - Fact

As most gamers are preparing for the next-generation of consoles, their living rooms are bound to become congested with various older games and consoles. A new way is now available to gamers that will help them declutter their "gaming area" but one which will also make them feel good doing so. The Get-Well Gamers Foundation accepts console, game and accessory donations in order to supply children's hospitals across the U.S.

Studies have shown that playing video games is one of the best ways for patients to dull their pain receptors and shortens the length of their hospital stays, so the Get-Well Gamers Foundation makes sure children at hospitals across the U.S. have videogames available to them.

Working machines are preferred, but broken systems can either be fixed by volunteer staff or scavenged for spare parts. Partial donations are encouraged as well; since the foundation has systems without games and games without systems. Controllers, wires, everything is welcome, and they'll even help pay for the shipping if you need it.
So any gamer that has a handheld, console, game or accessory that is lying there, can now contact the foundation and help improve the quality of hospital care that a child receives.
