GameCube 750 Per Cent More Games

Nintendo's GameCube just got a 750 per cent increase on the number of titles available for it. Nintendo's portable Game Boy, the most successful video game system in history, makes its homecoming on the television screen with Nintendo of America's introduction of the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Player.

The accessory makes it possible to play more than 1,300 Game Boy games on your TV through the Nintendo GameCube console.

For a limited time, consumers can receive a free Game Boy Player when they purchase a Nintendo GameCube system (MSRP USD 149.99). Game Boy Player is available for an MSRP of USD 49.99 when sold separately. The Game Boy Player connects to the bottom of the Nintendo GameCube, matching the footprint of the system, and allows players to use either the console controller or Game Boy Advance to direct on-screen action. Game Boy Player start-up disc, required for use, is included.

For several years, the video game industry has been pushing forward to new technical frontiers, while at the same time celebrating classic hit games of the past, says Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America Inc. The Game Boy Player fulfills both desires by instantly making your favorite Game Boy games playable on your television screen.

The Game Boy Player accommodates several novel forms of game play:

-Traditional
Insert Game Boy or Game Boy Advance game cartridges in the Game Boy Player and play via a regular intendo GameCube controller or WaveBird wireless controller

- Connected
Attach the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance cable (sold separately) to the Nintendo GameCube and the Game Boy Advance becomes the controller
-Reader-friendly
Connect the e-Reader accessory and slide specially-designed cards to unlock new games and
experiences
-Multi-player
Link via Game Boy Advance Game Link cables to see the entire action on the TV screen, while other players view their own action on the screen of their linked Game Boy Advance systems

The ability to play all Game Boy games on the road and on a TV screen at home gives players even more reasons to own both Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance. All new and upcoming Game Boy Advance games are compatible with the new Game Boy Player, including: Donkey Kong Country, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising and Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire.
