Fortnite buys will soon give free Disney Plus subscriptions

With all of the crossover events in Fortnite, it's no wonder it's starting to bleed in the other direction with co-promotional efforts. Epic Games and Disney have further cemented their partnership by offering all those who buy V-Bucks or make real money purchase in Fortnite's Item shop, two free months of the Disney Plus streaming service entirely free.

The promotion hasn't been officially announced, but with the release of the 14.5 patch, dataminers have dug through what's been added to the game, and part of that is a new promotion with Disney. The text of it reads: "Power up with Disney Plus! From now through December 31, 2020, purchase V-Bucks or make any real money purchase in the Item Shop, and get up to two months of Disney Plus on us."

It's not yet clear when "now" is, but presumably it'll start soon if it's been added as part of this patch and will run through December. Otherwise it wouldn't have long to run at all.

This isn't the first promotion that Disney and Epic have put together. There have been a number of big in-game events tied in to Disney's Star Wars franchise and the recent Marvel season saw heaps of cameos and nods to the franchise. If this promotion leads to big buys into Disney Plus, we can expect those tie-ins to continue well into 2021.
