Rocket League is still an incredibly young game, so it's future isn't set in stone like many of the much more established Esports out there, but following its first official tournament it seems likely that it's here to stay for some time to come.
Although there was a lot of back and forth action and excitement from fans and commenters alike throughout the tournament, the final match up between favourites Cosmic Aftershock, and Urban, a team of comparable upstarts. However they put on a good matchup and by the third game in the series, the score was one a piece in a best out of three.
Eventually, the score reached a climactic 3-3, with just seconds to go on the clock. The announcers were calling for aftertime, and people were preparing for a tense, perhaps many minute defensive slog to see who can bring home the golden goal - but it wasn't to be.
Seconds after the timer hit zero, the ball was still being juggled by the expert level players, until Kyle Masc of Urban comes flying in and scores a great high flying goal, sailing the ball past two potential keepers who had been waiting for just such a shot.
It wasn't the greatest goal ever, but it's execution and timing was perfect and shows that no matter how your game is going, you never know the result until the final whistle blows.
