Oculus Rift will ship with an Xbox One controller, but this didn't stop Oculus from experimenting to design its own VR controller.

As part of the Oculus inaugural press conference, Palmer Luckey took the stage to showcase the company's virtual reality-focused controller, the "Half Moon."

Currently in prototype phase, the Half Moon consists of two identical wireless motion controllers that can be tracked across 360 degrees of movement. Each of the duo sports a thumbstick, an analog trigger, a hand trigger and two face buttons. The controllers provide haptic feedback independently and they can detect "touch-based input" from all fingers.

Oculus still has no time frame for releasing the Half Moon controller to the public. In fact, there is really no guarantee it'll get past the prototype phase anytime soon.
