Final Fantasy Creator Criticizes Sony and Microsoft

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series, stated in the latest issue of EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) that developing for Playstation 3 is too difficult and that Microsoft's Xbox 360 marketing is a failure.

When asked why he has no current plans to develop games for PlayStation 3, Sakaguchi replied, "The machine's architecture is tricky, and I don't like Ken Kutaragi", Then he praised both Wii and Xbox 360.
When asked about Nintendo's Wii, he said that it is "intriguing", but he has no plans right now for a Wii game.

But on the other side, "Microsoft has to change its marketing strategy in Japan. There are a lot of excellent games on the 360, far better games than what's on the Wii or PS3. But not a lot of people in Japan have a clear idea what games like Gears of War are all about," said Sakaguchi who believe that bad marketing didn't hurt Xbox 360 only, but also all Microsoft products in Japan. "Just look at the Windows Vista commercial - it's terrible," he stated.
