Epic makes Flappy Bird clone in Unreal Engine 4

The whole trend for Flappy Bird clones might have come and gone at this point, but that doesn't mean some people aren't still at it. Oddly, the latest clone comes from Gears of War maker, Epic Games, which had one of its staff - with "no programming skills" - produce the game with the powerhouse that is, Unreal Engine 4, just to show how easy it is for people to make games with it.

The game in question is called Tappy Chicken and it features a chicken, flapping up and down as you tap the screen, dodging through trees with large sections inexplicably missing.

"Tappy Chicken is the perfect showcase for the ease of use and flexibility of Unreal Engine 4," Epic wrote.

"While it may not flex the full graphical muscle of the engine, it shows how almost anyone can make a fun and pretty game fit for mobile devices and web browsers."

There's also said to be a bunch of browser versions on the way, with support for Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

You can play the game for free on iOS and Android at the moment though, available from the respectively.
