Kojima productions has secured a lucrative deal with a Hollywood studio in order to produce a Metal Gear Solid movie.
Earlier this month, Hideo Kojima had confirmed plans to create a movie around Solid Snake but had refused to reveal any details claiming that a deal was not in place then. A Kojima Productions leaflet doing the rounds at E3 2006 however, confirms that a Hollywood deal is now in place and states, I have received many offers to adapt Metal Gear Solid. It has taken a long time, but we have finally settled on an arrangement.
The leaflet also puts an end to a nasty rumor that had been circulating since early May linking Uwe Boll with the project. The brochure mentions such rumors claiming, False facts aside, a movie project is underway. I have finalized a Class-A contract with a party in Hollywood.
Fans of the franchise can rejoice, not only will they be getting a stunning looking next-generation game but they may soon have a blockbuster MGS movie to look forward to.
