Sorrent announced that it has signed a multi-year, worldwide licensing with Atari to develop and publish wireless games based on Atari's Driver franchise, including DRIV3R.

The Driver franchise set the benchmark for the driving adventure genre, as the incredible legacy of Driver and Driver 2 has combined to sell more than 12 million units worldwide. More than half a million fans have flocked to DRIV3R's official Web site in the first month since the site's launch, showing the massive scale of the worldwide anticipation for the launch of DRIV3R.

Sorrent will participate in Atari's multi-million dollar TV, print and online advertising campaign, and other marketing support for the title will include in-box and online promotions of the wireless version of the game.

Wireless has emerged as a critical new gaming platform, making it an important extension for a title of DRIV3R's stature, said Wim Stocks, EVP of Sales and Marketing for Atari, Inc. In Summer 2004, during the highly anticipated launch of DRIV3R, gamers will enjoy a simultaneous product launch on console and wireless devices.
