Counter Strike map Dust II is now back in competitive rotation

If you ever played any version of Counter Strike, the original launch, 1.6, Counter Strike: Source, or CSGO, then you have no doubt at least played a few games on Dust II. It's arguably the most iconic of the game series' various maps and locations and for a while now it's been out of action while Valve tweaked various elements. Now though it's back, as the latest patch for CSGO has re-added it to the competitive scene.

de_dust2 or commonly, Dust II, received a sizeable revamp last year and the new version was added to competitive play, giving gamers an upgraded Dust II experience which went down well, even if many a long-time fan missed the original too. Well, now it's back with the latest patch and high-level players will soon be gunning one another down on the beloved classic.

However, don't celebrate just yet, as adding the classic Dust II has meant that another map has had to be sacrificed in the name of retaining the same number of overall map options. The map that's been culled this time around is Cobblestones.

As Kotaku points out, that has led to some lamentations from the community. Although the original DustII is a much beloved map, it's not the only one people have a soft spot for. There are a number who are sad to see Cobblestones go and even some who would have preferred it stayed, since they already have the new version of DustII to play.

Which way round would you have preferred it? Is bringing back the classic work losing Cobblestones for?
