CoD: Advanced Warfare sold well, just not in the US

One of the biggest game launches of this year was Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. And of course it was, the latest CoD is a big release every year. In some countries, like the UK, it managed to outsell Titanfall, Wolfenstein and Destiny put together, that's how successful a franchise it is.

However in the us, where you would assume it would have its biggest support base, sales actually dropped by more than 27 per cent when compared with Call of Duty Ghosts, launched back in 2013.

The only pinch of salt required with these stats, is that they don't come from Activision, but from third party NPD, so it may not have access to all the necessary data. Similarly, they don't take into consideration digital sales, which may have had a big impact on overall numbers. However, 27 per cent? I'm not so sure.

From Activision's end of things, it's already announced that in the US CoD: AW has been the biggest game launch of the year. The question is, whether it's as big as last year's or if the NPD drop off is accurate.

Have any of you been playing the latest CoD? Does it feel a little less populated than it did with its last iteration?
