Call of Duty might not be getting quite as much of a look in this year thanks to standout shooters like Titanfall, the upcoming Evolve and all the other great games landing this fall, but that doesn't mean it's not going to rear it's head as usual. Activision's cash cow is this time being produced by Sledgehammer games, the guys behind some of the elements of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, historically one of the weaker entries in the series.

However it turns out though, all we have for now is one screenshot, which can be seen in full detail in the gallery above. It's quite pretty, though only shows up the close up detail of a man's face, sporting a handful of moustache hairs.

We're told by the developers that this is from an in-game screenshot, though it makes you wonder where exactly it's taken, since that grey background doesn't look like anything that lifelike.

Still, this game should be quite polished graphically compared to Ghosts. While that title had to straddle the generations, releasing on both the last gen and the current one, this title has been specifically designed with the next-gen in mind, though it is still expected to be released on the 360 and PS3 since those install bases are just too high to ignore.

This is the first time in a long time more than two years has been spent making a CoD title too, since Sledgehammmer has the honour of making the first three year cycle game for the series. It joined veterans of the franchise, Treyarch and Infinity Ward back in 2011.

So what do you guys think of the screenshot and do you think the game will be any good?

Expect the next Call of Duty title to be released sometime later this year on all current and last gen platforms.
