British GAME stores are charging for PSVR trials

If you live near a location that lets you try virtual reality for free, consider yourself lucky, as British outlet GAME has begun charging for trials of its PlayStation VR hardware. Those interested in testing the new console VR standard are encouraged to come down to the store and try it for £5 for 10 minutes, or £15 for 30 minutes.

That works out to around $6 and $17 respectively, which is hardly an extortionate amount, but why charge at all when you are trying to encourage people to buy?

While this might seem like a bit of a draconian, or even anti-sales tactic, what this may do is encourage only those already interested in VR to try it out, in which case giving them a go may encourage a sale. Without charging, GAME risks people just having a play even if they had no intention of buying or don't even have a PS4.

It's worth pointing out too, that if you do go ahead and buy a PSVR system, you don't have to pay for the experience, so really you can go and test out your new system before you buy it, or just pay the £15 if you aren't that impressed.

If you do decide to go along and try it out, what can you expect? You'll be asked to remain seated the entire time and to not touch the headset at all - a GAME staff member will do all the set up for you. However we don't know which games GAME has chosen to use as part of the demo.

If you decided to pony up the cash to try PSVR, which games would you want to try out?
