Battlefield 4 has 12GB of optional install on 360

Battlefield 4 comes with 12GB of extra, optional install files on the Xbox 360 and DICE is recommending all of them if you want the full BF4 experience.

You'll need to install 2GB of data whether you want the extras or not, when first booting up the game, but on both the Single Player and Multiplayer discs, there's around 6GB of extra files that you can install to improve performance.

"We highly recommend performing these additional installations to make sure you have the best experience possible in Battlefield 4," reads the DICE post on the matter, but it's not clear how much of an improvement it will be.

Chances are we're only talking about reducing load times, but theoretically it might improve pop-in and draw distance a little.

Those of you with the old refurbished 20GB HDDs will be shaking your heads at this as chances are, you don't have a spare 12GB of space on your HDD, on top of the mandatory 2GB install, but the rest of you, this shouldn't be so bad - just expect a bit of a wait as it installs.

Battlefield 4 is set for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 29 and on Xbox One and PS4 in November.

I know most of you are PC gamers, but anyone planning on getting this on the Xbox?
