Battlefield 1 already has 200,000+ players

Battlefield 1 might not be set for release for another couple of days, but in its pre-release testing it's already netted 200,000 players across the various launch platforms. How is this possible? Some people were lucky to earn early access as part of Early Enlistment, as well as EA Origin Access members.

This has lead to a peak of 65,000 people playing on PC over the past few days, an additional 94,000 peaked while playing on the PlayStation 4 and a further 125,000 gamers shooting each other down on the Xbox One.

While there is likely some crossover there and there is no accounting for players who didn't play during peak times - due to the way P-Stats tracks players - but it does give us a rough idea of the number of people playing BF1 already.

Although the game seemed destined to do well since its first big reveal and was likely always going to be at least moderately successful, this is a good indicator that Battlefield 1 will perform very well when it finally launches on October 21 on all platforms.

The World War I shooter has gone in the opposite direction of its main rival, Call of Duty, this generation, taking a step back in time, while CoD has stepped into the future with Infinite Warfare and Connor McGregor punching you in space.
